My Top 5 Favourite Disney Princesses…..

As I am an avid Disney fan, I thought it’d be cool to tell you my top 5 favourite Disney princesses and why.

I value the princesses for their distinctive qualities and purposes they serve throughout the film.

5. Rapunzel

The reason why Rapunzel is in my top five is because I admire her courage and imagination. When first encountered by Flynn rider, Rapunzel is not hesitant to defend herself. She also has the courage to follow her dreams and step into the outside world, a quality I’m sure anyone would love to possess. Her imagination is explored through her love of painting and her dream to see the lights in the sky. Exploring her imagination in such a detailed and creative way, to me, is amazing.

4. Tiana

I am a massive Princess and the Frog fan therefore Tiana had to feature on my list. Along with her sass and headstrong attitude, I admire her sense of ambition and motivation. Ever since she was a little girl, Tiana dreamed of opening up her own restaurant and worked hard to save up for a property to call her own. She did not let anything get in her way and I really admire that. This film teaches audiences to stay motivated and to never give up which I think is an important lesson to learn.

3. Pocahontas

Again, Pocahontas is one of my favourite Disney films for its history and stunning animation. I admire Pocahontas for her wisdom and maturity. Throughout the film we see the Indian princess develop into a mature young woman as, initially she did not know what path to take in regards to her future. However, when she decides to stay put in her village, we see that Pocahontas decided to listen to her head instead of her heart which was a sensible and grow up thing to do. As for wisdom, I feel that certain sayings in songs like ‘Just Around The River Bend’ and ‘Colours Of The Wind’ are packed with inspirational lyrics and things to truly think about.

2. Ariel

The Little Mermaid was the film of my childhood. The characters and the songs remind me of when I was a little girl, therefore it holds a special place in my heart. I admire Ariel for her passion. Longing to go to the surface and become a human, Ariel has a collection of items from the surface. Her passion for land and human kind enables her to gain courage to defy her father and risk everything to become a human.

1. Belle

When I was younger, I really looked up to Belle for her love of reading and courage when standing up to the Beast and Gaston. Today I still admire her for the same reasons. I think that Belle is one to be admired most as she is not afraid to be different, which is an important message to be given to today’s generation as society’s expectations seemed to have affected younger people. Therefore Belle, to me is an important role model as she possesses the courage to be different and to stand up for what she believes in, such as her fathers freedom and Beast’s innocence.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments who your favourite Disney princesses are!

Thanks for reading!
